DETROIT — The speed of Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was on display as he burst through the Tennessee Titans’ defense to dash up the left sideline and into the end zone for a 70-yard touchdown Sunday.

It was a career-long run for Gibbs, also known as “Sonic,” to help Detroit take a 14-7 lead at 3:47 in the first quarter. Prior to this play, Gibbs’ longest run was a 45-yard touchdown in last week’s win at the Minnesota Vikings.
He now has the second longest rushing touchdown this season, behind Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry’s 87-yard rush in Week 4.
Gibbs reached a max speed of 22.03 mph, which is the fastest top speed that any Lions player has reached as a ball carrier since 2016, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
