Odell Beckham Jr. is set to make his Miami Dolphins debut on Sunday, with the team announcing it has activated the veteran wide receiver from the PUP list.
Beckham was signed this offseason by the Dolphins, but was sidelined throughout the offseason program with what has since been described as a knee injury, was placed on the physically unable to perform list and missed the Dolphins’ first four games as a result.
The three-time Pro Bowler said Thursday that his late start was due to a combination of offseason knee surgery and a desire to spend more time with his family. Beckham began practicing this week and is now in line to come off the PUP list after spending the minimum required four weeks on the list.
Miami will hope that the addition of Beckham to the lineup as the team’s third wide receiver will bolster an offense that has struggled without injured quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins rank last in scoring, 24th in rushing yards per game and 23rd in passing yards per game. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle lead the team with 217 and 212 receiving yards, respectively, but no other Dolphins receiver has more than 30 receiving yards this season.
Miami (1-3) travels to play New England (1-3) on Sunday in a battle of AFC East rivals.
