Iowa standout Caitlin Clark declares for 2024 WNBA Draft

Iowa star Caitlin Clark, the all-time leading scorer in major-women’s college basketball history, has declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft, she announced in a social media post Thursday.

Clark is a senior but had an extra year of eligibility due to the NCAA waiver for all athletes competing during the COVID-19 pandemic-affected 2020-21 academic year.

Clark, who leads the country in scoring at 32.2 points per game, currently has 3,650 career points, 18 away from passing Pete Maravich to become the NCAA Division I college basketball all-time leading scorer among both men and women. She has already passed Kelsey Plum for the women’s Division I record, and on Wednesday, Clark passed AIAW large-college record-holder Lynette Woodard’s mark of 3,649 points, set in 1982 before the NCAA sanctioned women’s basketball.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
