Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas was ejected from Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky after being assessed a flagrant foul 2 on rookie Angel Reese late in the third quarter.

Thomas and Reese were battling down low for a rebound when Thomas extended her arm into Reese’s neck and appeared to push Reese toward the floor. Reese took a hard fall but returned to game action.

After the play was reviewed, Thomas received the first flagrant foul 2 of her career. She left with nine points, six assists and six rebounds.

Reese, the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, is one of the star rookies in this year’s class. Thomas came in second in MVP voting last season.

The Sun entered Saturday’s game at 4-0, while the Sky, hosting their first home game of the season, were 2-1.
