HOUSTON — Texans receiver Stefon Diggs gets his first career rushing touchdown off a trick play to erase the Texans’ special team blunder and tie the game at 7-7.
The Texans started the afternoon by breathing life into the winless Jacksonville Jaguars when wide receiver Steven Sims dropped a punt on the two-yard line and Jaguars’ Daniel Thomas recovered the loose ball. One play later, quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw a touchdown pass to wideout Brian Thomas.
The Texans didn’t let that start derail them though.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud found wideout Nico Collins three times for 49 yards to get the offense into the red zone. Then on third-and-2 from the Jaguars’ six-yard line, Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik called a trick play where Diggs received the hand off and was going to throw it.
But his intended target wasn’t open so Diggs did it himself and ran into the end zone untouched for the score.
